[image-1] When my daughter was in high school, she got together with some friends for a night of home videos, which turned out to be "clean flicks." As the only non-Mormon in her group, she asked why parts of the film were missing. One of her friends explained, rather proudly, that they were cleaned up. "I like watching films this way," said one. "I feel I'm respecting myself."

Even my 16-year-old recognized the Kool-Aid was talking. What teen says those things?

Deseret News' editor Joe Cannon's edict to Mormonize the paper's news coverage, which he attempts to explain on this KCPW 88.3 podcast similarly reeks of Kool-Aid. Do D-News' readers really want news that helps them respect themselves? Or do they want to know what's going on in the world?
