Listen Up - Doves

I recently rediscovered Doves' Some Cities (2005) and fell in love all over again with the Manchester rock band whose brooding melodies and brooding good looks pack a mean one-two punch. Some Cities followed two full-length albums, the first of which secured a Mercury Prize nomination and helped them gain some footing in the states. My regained appreciation for Some Cities happens to coincide with the release of Doves' latest studio effort, Kingdom of Rust, which hits streets tomorrow. The boys continue to experiment with their style while maintaining the gorgeous, romantic vocals and warm blanket of sound that first earned them critical acclaim. Pick up Kingdom of Rust - and maybe Some Cities while you're at it, too.
