Remember the critical advice in the film The Graduate? PLASTICS!
Well, the folks at France's Yellow Jersey wine company got the message. They now bottle their wines in plastic bottles. I came across the first plastic bottle I'd ever seen last week at the Wines of Wyncoop store in Denver.
The bottles are made from a plastic resin called Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET) and are lightweight and shatterproof.
It might just be the perfect packaging for picnic wines, although I can't quite picture myself unscrewing a plastic bottle of Chateau Lafite.
