Japanther - That's Right MF!

Return to "Good Day Utah"

After a week of vacation -- sorry to those who paid attention to our house ad last week -- your friendly neighborhood City Weekly movie dude will be back on Fox 13's Good Day Utah tomorrow (Friday) morning in the 7 a.m. hour (probably around 7:30) to talk about the week's new theatrical releases. Our feature presentation: Up.

Not That Goode

Tonight, ABC debuts its first animated series in 10 years, The Goode Family--by Mike Judge, he of King of the Hill, Office Space, Beavis & Butt-head and Idiocracy. It's essentially a flip of King of the Hill: Instead of meat-grillin' rednecks, they're politically-correct urbanites living the "green" lifestyle.

The boring but bad-ass Harry Reid faces a tough reelection

Harry Reid is busy campaigning for reelection this coming fall. Yesterday, with the support of President Obama, Bette Midler, Sheryl Crow, and others, Reid kicked off his first big political fundraiser at Caesar’s Palace.

Two free movie screenings tonight cover a pretty broad spectrum: from corporate agri-business, to Johnny Depp in bondage gear. At the Fort Douglas Post Theater tonight at 7 p.m., the SLC Film Center presents Robert Kenner's documentary Food, Inc. It covers developments in agricultural and food production practices that are having profound effects on our health, our environment and on the way the market is carved up.
