Ferrell Leaves as SL Art Center Director

Only 16 months after Heather Ferrell became Executive Director of Salt Lake Art Center, the facility is going to be searching for a new leader again. ---

Ferrell -- who was profiled in City Weekly in July -- announced her resignation yesterday, for primarily personal reasons according to a press release. A long-distance relationship with her fiance -- in Qatar, which probably puts anything you've called a "long-distance relationship" to shame -- had grown too taxing, leading to her decision to leave the city. Ferrell commented that she "hopes to continue working with the Art Center on a consulting basis. An interrim director announcement is expected shortly, with a search committee to be appointed to hire a new director.
