Let the Sundance Rumor Mill Begin!

Any local who braves Park City during Sundance must be just that - brave. Freezing temperatures, crowded streets and tourists with attitude combine for one hell of a frustrating experience. On the other hand, it can also yield some of the best movie-watching and concert-going memories.--- For me, the ultimate Sundance moment was seeing Broken Social Scene at Harry O's the year they contributed to the Half-Nelson soundtrack. This year's festival features several films scored by an impressive cast of indie acts who are also rumored to play exclusive shows at T.B.A locations. These artists include Grizzly Bear, Yo La Tengo and Animal Collective. Califone is for sure performing in support of their film, All My Friends Are Funeral Singers. I also just received an email announcing Beach House appearing Jan 24 in Park City. Methinks they will be at the Star Bar for the Sub Pop showcase. Industrious types just might find a way into all of these gigs. The ball is in your court! Stay tuned for updates online and in the Jan 21 issue of City Weekly.
