Where do you want the Twilight Concert Series?

You've undoubtedly heard that the show will go on for the Twilight Concert Series this summer, rather than taking a year off while the Gallivan Center downtown undergoes its multi-million-dollar facelift.---%uFFFD

The Trib reported the story Wednesday, sans details on where the popular free Thursday night shows might land. Of course, you diligent City Weekly readers already knew the story, because Twilight mastermind Casey Jarmen of the Salt Lake City Arts Council told CW in our March 18 issue: “Twilight will happen [in 2010]. It will just be in a different form than it has been in past years.”

What we do know: the series will run from July 8 to August 26. What we don't know: where they will happen.

The obvious places all have issues. Jarmen told me a while back that doing the shows in a park would be tough because of the weekly grind of building up and tearing down a stage suitable for the shows that have regularly drawn more than 10,000 folks for several years now. Library Park's amphitheater might not be big enough. Pioneer Park is "historic" and has some affiliated restrictions, plus that whole temp-stage issue to deal with. The city could always close down a street, but that would undoubtedly have some downtown businesses squawking.

Jarmen is going to solidify the lineup for Twilight by mid-April. In the meantime, where do you think this summer's Twilight Concert Series should set up shop?
