Moratorium on Beards Temporarily Lifted

As a member of the fuzzy-faced set for the past dozen years or so, I was excited that clean-shaven fashion arbiter Ben Fulton dared ask the Big Question: Are beards back in style?
---The answer, according to Fulton, is that facial hair is now "dangerously close to mainstream." But not to worry: "Like all trends, this one will disappear."
That's a relief. It's distressing enough that fashion's fickle finger might be pointing in a direction that makes my beard suddenly trendy -- but the thought that facial hair might become permanently socially acceptable is simply too much for my beard to bear.
