Throughout the night, watch this post for updates about the primary election results.---

8:20 p.m.: Polls have closed at 8 p.m., so results are only just trickling in. According to the Utah Elections Office less than one percent of precincts have reported statewide. With the electronic voting machines, results can be expected as early as 10 p.m. and as late as midnight. Here's what I do know, mostly anecdotal from Twitter posts and news reports: turn-out was really low, and may run at about 10 percent. So that means expected cakewalks for people like Rep. Jim Matheson may be a lot harder ... but it could also mean (and often does) that grassroots support for a candidate like Claudia Wright doesn't translate to voters at the booths, and only party faithful voted.%uFFFD

8:54 p.m.: The Giants beat the Astros today. That's all for now. Only 2% of precincts reporting.

9 p.m.: I launched a real live blog through CoverItLive. I'm hoping the web server for cityweekly.net works, but if it's not I'm also running it on my personal website, joshloftin.com.
