Do you like leaving crazy comments on newspaper sites? Well then you’ll love Salt Lake City’s new Open City Hall online forum.---

As part of an ongoing mission of transparency Mayor Ralph Becker’s administration has created an online forum that brings the city hall right to the citizen. Log on confidentially and you need only provide your name and city location to administrators. Users will have the option of not displaying this information with their comments if they so choose, but it will be held onto by administrators to determine that commenters are local residents.

Afterwards participants can start and join discussions, and members of city government will weigh the public input in their decision making processes. The topics can be on any subject from sustainability ordinances, demolitions, and historic districts to bike paths and parking rates. Though there will be a limit to the amount of crazy you can throw into your comments as disruptive comments will be regulated.

Get started now by registering here for the online forum and you can begin posting your online thoughts, advice, tirades and rants today!
