Hello
to all you over-hyped Scott-Pilgrim-is-gonna-make-you-squeal
enthusiasts. If you're any kind of video gamer, this is your film for
the year. On occasion, you need a movie that's just dumb fun. For a change of pace, how about some random building
pasting artwork.

--- Couple
of things to chat about, first up on tomorrow's list of things to do,
the Salty Streets Flea Market is back at Kilby Court. If you're not
going to these, you're a fucking idiot. A six hour event held on on
the street and in the venue that includes eats and vendors, plus
music entertainment, all for just $2. This month's performers will be
Mason Jones, The Glinting Gems and Fox Van Cleef! Karamea
Puriri and Audrey Gallegos
have put a lot of hard work and love into these events, go check it
out before the weather decides they can't do it any longer.

For
music the Warped Tour is hitting town next Saturday... so fuck that event. Really, $30 to see Pennywise and Reel Big Fish
headline at the Fairgrounds? I hate to sound like a trendy smartass,
but 1997 just paged us and they'd like their gig back. Instead, might
I suggest a three day localized gig that isn't sponsored by a shoe
brand?
Uncle Uncanny's Music Festival kicks off on August 13
th
and continues throughout the weekend with a slew of Utah bands
including Spell Talk, Fox Van Cleef, Ulyssees, The Velvetones, Hotel
Le Motel, Triggers & Slips, the Cody Jordan Band, Dead Horse
Anonymous and more to be added. Parking themselves at River's Edge in
Deer Park (just north of Heber City), $35 will snag you three days worth of
music and entertainment in an area that isn't too shabby. Camping is
encouraged, though I'm sure Heber would love to have you.

But
for those looking to stick to the city, we got a film fest coming.
The second annual Salt Lake City Film Festival that is, kicking off
on August 12th Carrying an assortment of films that near
doubles what they had last year, there's a bit of something for
everyone. Including the first official Utah feature of the
documentary “Cleanflix: The Movie” to kick off the showings.
Check out their website for dates, times and locations that will be
all over the downtown area. And most of all, support our local
filmmakers who are a part of the fest.

As for the blog, I'm
not entirely sure what the hell is coming up. I have an idea, there's a show and a cause we'll be talking about, but
there's a couple unconfirmed interviews in the works. And if things
fall through I'll tell you why they did. So, most definitely, we'll
see what happens.
