Wrapping up August we have a couple releases to talk about that flew under the radar, so to speak.

Roller Derby: SLC vs. Ogden Saturday

The Salt City Derby Girls and the Junction City Roller Dolls are facing off for the first time in the 2010 local roller-derby season tomorrow—but with a twist.--- Instead of the usual all-star travel team vs. all-star travel team format, individual SCDG home teams The Bomber Babes and The Sisters of No Mercy will take on JCRD home teams Railway Banditas and Hilltop Aces, respectively, in an all-evening double-header at the Davis Conference Center (800 W. Heritage Park Blvd.) in Layton.

The return of Inspector Lewis

This Sunday night at 8 p.m. KUED debuts the third season of Inspector Lewis, a British detective series that as a sequel to the still much missed Inspector Morse, in many ways more than ably fills its substantial shoes.---

ICE wears gang-colored glasses

Immigrants recently apprehended on suspicion that they are gang members or felons may have been identified as such based on nothing more than a nautical star tattoo. Big surprise: ICE has been doing similar things for nearly a decade.---

Guerilla tango

This Saturday morning at 10 a.m. you can catch a 'flash mob' style burst of Argentine tango at 10 a.m. by the Argie bakery Pampas in Sugarhouse on 2156 South Highland Drive.--- Brian Salisbury coordinates these gifts of what he calls "guerilla tango" and in the past has abruptly orchestrated a burst of late night tango by practised and not so proficient dancers at Exchange Place by the Boston Building in downtown Salt Lake one midnight, or at the fountain on the southest corner of Library Square and the gazebo on Liberty Park.
