Utah is launching another festival dedicated to under-the-radar cinema -- this one in a considerably warmer climate than snowy Park City. ---

The inaugural Southern Utah International Documentary Film Festival -- or DocUtah to its friends -- kicks off next Thursday at Tuacahn Amphitheatre with Helen Whitney's Forgiveness: A Time to Love and a Time to Hate. Venues in St. George and Kanab host a week of screenings thereafter, showcasing more than 130 documentary features and shorts from 34 countries. The full list of films, schedule and ticketing information is available at the festival's official Website.
