Becker to hold townhall meetings for SLC homeless

In a gesture of community engagement, to often overlooked community, Mayor Ralph Becker is planning on a series of “town hall” meetings with low-income and homeless residents.---

The meetings are set for next Monday, Sept. 27th. With homeless residents encouraged to attend meeting locations and discuss with the mayor issues relevant to them. Bill Tibbits, Anti-Hunger Advocacy Project director at the Crossroads-Urban Center is excited about the meetings. “I think it’s great that he is actually going to organizations that serve the homeless and meeting people with to hear what there concerns are,” Tibbits says.

Town Hall Meetings Monday, Sept. 27th

4:00 PM - Weigand Homeless Day Center, 235 S. Rio Grande Street

5:00 PM - The Road Home, 210 South Rio Grande Street

6:00 PM - Volunteers of America Homeless Youth Resource Center, 655 S. State Street
