For the artistically inclined, Salt Lake Art Center will host the three directors/founders of the Boston-based Oh Nancy national art collective—Fionn McCabe, Nate Wellman and Arthur Henderson—in conjunction with The Hideout, a residency/exhibition project presented by GARFO Art Center for their biggest project ever. The lecture will be from 4:30-6 p.m.
Or, check head to the Main Library Auditorium at 7 p.m. to hear NPR's Michelle Norris, co-host of All Things Considered, as she chats with smooth-talking Doug Fabrizio about her latest book The Grace of Silence, which delves into the hidden conversations and social undercurrents following President Barack Obama's election. Read City Weekly's preview here.
Then, if you haven't been swilling rum and Coke during the lectures (like you did during your Geology 103 night class), then grab a drink on your way to The Depot for the surfer-turned-musician acoustic rock of Donavon Frankenreiter; the show starts at 8 p.m. Or, skip the lectures altogether to hear some semi-angsty Girl Power pop-rock; Eisley will perform at In the Venue at 7pm.
