Calm yourselves, everybody. The danger has passed.---
The catastrophic Tuesday-evening blizzard that had so many of us worried turned out to be little more than a spot of nasty weather, at least in the Salt Lake City area. Inconvenient, yes, and uncomfortable for those who had to venture outdoors -- but it seems the worst is over now; we haven't been buried alive, and we can stop wondering whether, if worse came to worst, we'd be able to eat our housemates Donner Party-style, or we'd rather be eaten instead.
Just typical Utah weather for this time of year. The University of Utah campus-alert system -- always the bellwether of snow days -- announced about 9 p.m. the U will resume full operations in the morning, barring any overnight changes.
Of course, the official start of winter is still nearly four weeks away -- so we'll have plenty of chances for weather disasters in the months and months to come!
