Let the wild weekend rumpus begin! There's a hell of a lot of worthy tunes in SLC Thursday night.---
Let's start out at Kilby Court, where the entrancing Y La Bamba is part of a stellar triple bill headlined by Horse Feathers and also including local fave Paul Jacobsen. Read our profile of Y La Bamba right here, then go check out what is sure to be one of the most consistently excellent lineups of the week.
At The Urban Lounge this eve, local prog-meets-pop rockers DulceSky are celebrating the release of their new album, Invisible Empire, with a show also featuring Plastic Furs and Summerhead. The album is quite an achievement for the Valenzuela brothers, so kudos to them.
If the folk-rock of Y La Bamba and the prog-rock of DulceSky aren't your thing, perhaps a hot dance artist rooted in hip-hop will draw you out of the house? M.I.A. protogee Rye Rye (pictured) is headlining a gig Thursday at W Lounge, and you can expect a steamy, sweaty set from her and opener Chic Bangs.
