You've got both ends of the cinema spectrum new to bargain theaters this weekend: An Oscar winner, and a movie that barely made it to first-run theaters locally. ---

In the former category is Black Swan, which earned Natalie Portman a Best Actress Oscar as a ballet dancer whose shot at a starring role may be impacted by her deteriorating mental state. It's a typically audacious piece of psychodrama from director Darren Aronofsky, one that's fascinating both as character study and as dizzying experiment in le cinema du crazy.

Or if something with such a pedigree isn't your cup of tea, there's always From Prada to Nada, a teen comedy with Camilla Belle and Alexa Vega as pampered sisters left to fend for themselves after daddy's death leaves them penniless. It claims to be an adaptation of Jane Austen's Sense and Sensibility. Forgive us if we are skeptical as to whether it lives up to such provenance.
