There's more to do in any given weekend in Utah than we can fit in our print paper. Consider even more amazing options for your weekend entertainment and edification. ---

 This weekend marks the opening of Living Planet Aquarium's new "Animal Superheroes" exhibit. Check out a variety of species--archerfish, pythons, geckos and more--whose camouflage, venom, specialized senses and more give them unique powers. Exhibit free with regular aquarium admission.

In an April Fool's Day spirit, the "Buffoon Day" program at the Murray Theater (4959 S. State) combines stand-up comedy, improv by Quick Wits and Hi-Jinks, and music performances. Showtime is 7 p.m., and a portion of every $10 ticket will go to the Make-a-Wish Foundation.

Also tonight--and tomorrow, and continuing next weekend--the University of Utah Performing Dance Company presents its annual spring performance at the Marriott Center for Dance, featuring works by faculty members as well as New York-based choreographer Andrea Miller. Showtime is 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, with tickets $10 general admission, $7 students, faculty and staff.

For one week only, House Gallery hosts Tyrone Davies' video installation "Purgatory of Sweat, Crucible of Bullets", beginning with tonight's (April 1) reception. An artist's statement describes the work as exploring "questions of mediated spectacle and mass culture either through the reuse, re-appropriation, and re-contextualization of recorded material and industrially produced objects, or by producing wholly new material that reconsiders established assumptions about cultural trends." Also, there's a picture of Stallone as Rocky on the Website. This will likely be awesome.
