The Twilight Concert Series is returning to Pioneer Park with another stellar lineup sure to draw tens of thousands downtown for seven Thursdays this summer.---

The free Twilight Concert Series kicks off July 14 with Explosions in the Sky and No Age, and continues for the next seven straight weeks. Here's what's in store: July 21-The Decemberists (pictured) and Typhoon; July 28-Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeroes, with opener to be announced; August 4-Thurston Moore and Kurt Vile; August 11-Bright Eyes and opener tba; August 18-Ghostland Observatory with opener tba; August 25-Lupe Fiasco and opener tba.

The Salt Lake Arts Council's Casey Jarman said there wouldn't be any dramatic changes from the set-up at Pioneer Park for the shows, after making adjustments throughout last summer's first season at the downtown park. He noted that 2010's lineup "certainly exceeded my expectations," and he expects this year to be another success.

Reps from the mayor's office and Downtown Alliance were on hand for the Thursday morning announcement, but obviously the folks on hand were most interested in the lineup, which Jarman suggested is starting off "a little slower" than last year, when the opening Modest Mouse show created mayhem at Pioneer Park.

So, there it is. Now is when all you hipsters can start complaining about all the hipsters who fill the park for the shows.
