Let's get this long weekend started early with a big night of music, shall we?---
Old-school skate-punks Agent Orange headline a gig Thursday at Club Vegas, and a little moshing is always a fine way to spend a Thursday night--or any damn night for that matter. Locals Victims Willing are among the openers, and they will be sure you're good and loose (and sweaty) by the time Agent Orange hits the stage.
The Woodshed is hosting a big ol' Backyard Bash on its fat patio (weather-permitting), and you can catch Ooklah the Moc along with a slew of local reggae acts like Afro Omega and DJ Roots Rawka at the party.
Kilby Court will bring out your playful side with a fantastic show featuring Jared Mees and the Grown Children (pictured), along with Nathan Spencer and the Low Keys, The Awful Truth and R.U.G.S.
If you're down Provo way, Holy Water Buffalo is headlining at Velour, and will be joined by In Dreaming, Ferocious Oaks, 90s Television.
Bar Deluxe has a night of hip-hop, led by Nappy Roots and including locals DopeThought, DJ Planit and Cavelight Captains. And The Urban Lounge is hosting a CD release party by local experimentalist Sodacon.
