A bunch of Utahans got a few required elements for a movie on Friday night, filmed all day Friday and finished it up by Sunday. How did you spend your weekend? ---

The annual 48 Hour Film Project regularly challenges teams of filmmakers around the country to put together a short film that must include a number of specific words, characters or props. For 2011, the mystery basket for required elements included: a roll of toilet paper; a character who was a magician; and the line of dialogue, "What were you thinking?"

Tonight will be the first of two nights to watch the completed films at the Megaplex 12 Gateway Theatre at screenings scheduled for 6 p.m. & 8:30 p.m. tonight and 6 p.m. Wednesday. Tickets are $10, available here for tonight and here for Wednesday. On Thursday, June 30, you can catch the winners and award ceremony at 7 p.m.
