Pharmacy Board Meeting Tuesday

State regulators will discuss efforts to design prescription drug labels to stop illicit pill poppin’---
Prescription drug abuse is a problem in Utah. The kind of problems that health officials say continues to grow by staggering leaps and bounds increasing 500 percent between 1997 and 2007. In the 2011 Legislature, lawmakers crafted a legislation asking the state Pharmacy Board, to work on stronger warning labels for prescription medications in Utah that can hopefully warn consumers about the perils of abuse.
The board will be discussing this project and other business at this week’s meeting which is free and open to the public.
