As part of its 10th anniversary celebration of art-house excellence, the Salt Lake Film Society wants to know why you love movies (and SLFS in particular). And they'll make it worth your while to tell 'em. ---

Salt Lake Film Society invites its friends and fans to submit a 500-words-or-less piece of original writing--florid fiction, serious essay, epic verse, whatever--about "what makes movies special to you," with the caveat that at least one line needs to mention the role of SLFS in that love affair. Every single entrant will receive a free movie ticket just for submitting, while several top picks will be featured in the SLFS Film Preview newsletter and the grand prize winner will receive free movies at the Broadway and Tower Theatres for a whole year.

Entries are due by August 8, 2011, and can be submitted electronically to jim_faulkner@saltlakefilmsociety.org.
