Saturday, June 25: Ogden’s Junction City Roller Dolls took on Greeley, CO’s Slaughterhouse Derby Girls at Layton’s Davis Conference Center, in a doubleheader that also featured home teams Railway Banditas and Hilltop Aces.
Psychedelic cowboys the Meat Puppets headlined Urban Lounge Saturday night, and they packed some epic guitar jams for the trip.--- The brothers Kirkwood (guitarist Curt and bassist Cris), along with drummer Shandon Sahm, have always had a soft spot for extending their tunes into new and progressively more-twisted directions, but rarely have they used virtually every song of a set to work out their instrumental chops to quite the degree they did Saturday.
Mitt Romney dazzled a crowd outside of Hire’s Big H, in Salt Lake City today, greeted by chants of “We Want Mitt!”--- French fries and fry sauce flowed amongst a crowd of eager Romney-ites before the former Massachusetts governor addressed a crowd of 150 to 200 outside of Hire’s Big H at 425 S. 700 East.
