Sugar House Street Car Workshop Tonight!

In a few short years, a Sugar House streetcar will likely be a permanent fixture in the neighborhood. If you’re interested in public transit in your neighborhood, or just want to make sure the city doesn’t lay tracks in your front yard, then you’ll want to check out tonight’s meeting.---
The plans for the streetcar have been in the works for a while, but early designs of the corridor are on track to be formalized starting in September of this year, construction will begin in 2012 and the line should be open and running through the Sugarhood by 2013.
Tonight’s meeting will include a review of design concepts, with public comments taken to be passed on to the Salt Lake City Council. Children are welcome and there will be an activity area for their distraction. Refreshments will also be provided.
Show up, speak out and get your thumb on the blueprints!
Check it out tonight, Thursday, Aug. 25 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Highland High School, 2166 S. 1700 East.
