With so much to do this weekend, allow us to offer a hand in planning your weekend.---

FRIDAY

The Classic Greek Theatre Festival gets under way, with Westminster College taking the reins from the U for the long-running program. This year, the perfomance will be Iphigenia in Tauris by Euripides.

Pioneer Theatre Company kicks off its new season with the Tony and Pulitzer-winning Next to Normal.  Wasatch Theatre Company's production of Grey Gardens runs all weekend at the Rose Wagner.

Art lovers should definitely check out Waves of Mu, a multimedia look inside the human brain that is sure to be unlike anything you've seen before. The show runs into October on the U campus.

On the music tip, Eric McFadden headlines a night of guitar mayhem at The Urban Lounge.

SATURDAY

While much of the state will be focused on the Utah/BYU football game going down in Provo Saturday night, one of the best live bands on the planet will be headlining a gig at The Great Saltair. If you've never seen The Flaming Lips (pictured), do yourself a favor and get to the show.

At the State Room, get a taste of rambunctious country-blues courtesy of Rev. Peyton's Big Damn Band

The 9th and 9th Street Festival is going down all day long at one of SLC's coolest neighborhoods, starting at 10 a.m.

SUNDAY

Sunday night, you can join the City Weekly Street Team for a screening of the latest episode of Breaking Bad at Brewvies. It's also the last day to take in the sights and sounds of the Utah State Fair.

And one-man-band Keller Williams headlines a show at the Canyons; read our interview with him right here.
