There's a weekend full of action and adventure waiting for you. Better get to it; here are some helpful tips on planning your debauchery.---

FRIDAY

The Urban Lounge is hosting a night of excellent local music, including a couple of bands celebrating the release of new CDs. You can hardly do better than a triple bill of Palace of Buddies, No-Nation Orchestra and Tolchok Trio; the show starts at 9 p.m.

Over at In The Venue, English alt-blues dudes Gomez headline a show at 6:30 p.m.; they're always a worthy live act, and it's been a spell since they traipsed through SLC. The State Room hosts excellent country-rock cats The Moondoggies, pictured, who are much better than their surfer-dude moniker implies; the show is at 9 p.m.  Excellent drone-rockers Low headline a show at Velour in Provo at 8 p.m.

Friday night is also opening night of the Gandhi Film Festival, a free batch of films showing at the Salt Lake City Main Library auditorium throughout the weekend. Besides the Oscar-winning film Gandhi, you can catch all manner of documentaries and features focused on the man's philosophy of non-violent protest.

The Urban Gallery at Neighborhood House is one of the coolest art events each year, as a pack of artists descend on Neighborhood House and paint a series of garage doors in incredibly ornate ways. Check it out Friday night or Saturday afternoon. And Amy Caron's Waves of Mu show continues on the U campus through the weekend. And the Poor Yorick studios opens its doors for one of the regular open houses Friday night and Saturday afternoon.

SATURDAY

Saturday marks the 2011 Utah Undie Run and City Weekly's Street Team is hosting an after-party at Gallivan Center starting at 7 p.m. Saturday is also the Miss City Weekly Royal Revue at Bar Deluxe, an event raising money for Cause for Paws Utah via donations, raffles and a mere $6 cover for some awesome tunes. It starts at 9 p.m.

The Fruit Bats and Vetiver bring their tour to Salt Lake City for what is sure to be a great show, with local fave David Williams opening. The gig is at The Urban Lounge, starting at 9 p.m. Out at the Saltair, Skrillex headlines a night of DJs, but it'll be hard to find a ticket; the Spin mag cover boy's show was sold out, so look online for tix.

Sugar Space is hosting A Night at the Casbah, featuring a number of dance groups and live music capturing that crazy casbah vibe.

Up in Ogden, Saturday marks the 10th Annual Harvest Moon Celebration, with live music on historic 25th Street all day, and lots of food and drinks to be had, as well. With Frontrunner at your disposal, it's a perfect way to spend a Saturday afternoon/evening.

SUNDAY

In The Venue hosts Tennessee crew 10 Years on Sunday night for a 6:30 p.m. show.

MONDAY

The Mike Reilly Band wails some blues at Pat's BBQ at 7 p.m.
