Few people are more fun to listen to them talk than director/provocateur John Waters, and his appearance in Salt Lake City tonight is just one worthy happening for your consideration.---

Waters, the director of such cult classics as Pink Flamingos, Polyester and the surprise hit Hairspray, brings his speaking tour to the Rose Wagner Thursday night for what is sure to be at least 90 minutes of non-stop laughs, thanks to a bag of stories from his years as a filmmaker and writer.  You can read our interview with John Waters right here, then get one of the few remaining tickets for the show, ASAP! The show is at 7:30 p.m.

Also Thursday, author Kristen Chandler drops in to The King's English to read from her new tome, Girls Don't Fly, the follow-up to her remarkable debut, Wolves, Boys and Other Things That Might Kill Me

The State Room hosts a little reggae, courtesy of Yellowman, who headlines a gig starting at 8 p.m. with openers the Sagittarius Band and Afro Omega.
