Lounge Act Weekend: Farmers' finale, epic tunes and The Bard

FRIDAY
Local hip-hoppers Hurris & Gig celebrate a new CD release with a gig at Sugar Space in Sugar House. Over at In The Venue, singer/songwriter and funny man Matt Nathanson headlines a gig at 6:30 p.m. The Depot hosts Neil Diamond tribute band Super Diamond--I've seen them a few times, and a better tribute you will not find.
The Devil Whale headlines a fine local showcase at Kilby Court, which also includes Sayde Price, Bear Clause and Drew Grow, starting at 7 p.m., and dance-pop flavor of the month Theophilus London headlines at The Urban Lounge at 9 p.m.
Friday night at the Pioneer Memorial Theatre at the U, Shakespeare's The Tempest opens its run in what is sure to be a visual feast accompanying The Bard's clever wordplay.
SATURDAY
Saturday marks the final Downtown Farmers Market, so you might want to scurry down for one last chance at awesome produce and people watching, starting at 8 a.m.
Bar Deluxe is hosting a CD-release party for local hip-hopper GeorgeLife, starting at 9 p.m. Velour in Provo has a fine show featuring Imagine Dragons, The Neighbors and Hello Amsterdam. Kilby Court plays host to Milagres, who will be joined by Secret Abilities, Michael Gross & the Statuettes and Mason Lee and the Rock & Roll Space Studs for the 7 p.m. show.
At The Urban Lounge, Radio Moscow (pictured) brings the three-piece power-trio ala Cream back from the dead. And guitar god Warren Haynes leads his band for a gig at The Depot, where the Allman Brothers Band and Gov't Mule dude will surely pack the joint.
SUNDAY
The NOVA Chamber Music Series tackles Brahms, Wagner and Frank at Libby Gardner Hall Sunday at 3 p.m.
