Lounge Act Tuesday: None more metal

Tuesday is truly a showcase of how diverse SLC's offerings can be on a weeknight. To wit:---

Kingsbuy Hall is hosting the Complexions Contemporary Ballet, a new company founded by Desmond Richardson of So You Think You Can Dance? fame, right here in Utah.

At The Depot in downtown SLC, metal gods Mastodon (pictured) headline a show also featuring Dillinger Escape Plan and Red Fang. Hard to imagine a harder-hitting show ever dropping by the swank confines of The Depot.

The Urban Lounge has a fine show featuring Kathryn Calder of The New Pornographers, along with The Appleseed Cast and Nick Neihart.

And if you missed former NFL running back Herschel Walker when he blew through Salt Lake City recently, you can catch up with the Heisman Trophy winner in Ogden, where he'll be lecturing at Weber State about mental health and the modern athlete. It starts at noon in the school's union building theater.
