Sundance opens today, but there's a lot more than indie films and gift lounges going on around town.---

Take Thursday night's Bastian Foundation Diversity Lecture at Westminster College, for example, which features Dr. George Yancy, associate professor of philosophy at Duquesne University, the author and editor of numerous books and publications focused on the critical philosophy of race, critical whiteness studies, and the Black experience. The event is free, and there will be a Q&A with Yancy, as well. It starts at 7:30 p.m. at the Vieve Gore Concert Hall.

Brewvies is hosting a free screening of a John Cusack classic, High Fidelity, starting at 10 p.m. Get there early with your Top 5 reasons Cusack rules to get a seat.

If you love a good show tune, Kingsbury Hall is the place for you Thursday night. Neil Berg's 100 Years of Broadway show brings a batch of Broadway vets to town to tackle songs from the American musical canon. The show is at 7:30 p.m., and you can still get tix.

If you do make your way to Park City Thursday, Downstairs is hosting an oddball show featuring Cisco Adler, Kate Voegele and Bad Rabbits -- talk about diversity!  The fun starts at 9 p.m.
