Heading into the final weekend, catch one of the festival's best performances, and its biggest adrenaline rush. ---

The early evening SLC slot offers several of the festival's U.S. Dramatic Competition entries, but the strongest is The Surrogate, anchored by John Hawkes' fantastic performance as a man crippled by polio but seeking his first sexual partner. More Dramatic Competition features are available for late evening, but word has been mixed on both LUV and Keep the Lights On. Consider The Other Dream Team, a documentary about Lithuania's all-star basketball team at the 1992 Barcelona Olympic Games.

And if you've got the energy to stay up past midnight, you'll only be more energized by the kinetic Indonesian action film The Raid. Prepare for a parade of gun-blastings and ass-kickings quite unlike anything you've ever seen before.
