One of my favorite albums of 2011 gets the live, in-theater treatment tonight for your listening and viewing pleasure.---
The disparate styles of bluegrass and classical are blended with such effortless ability by a collection of virtuosos—Yo-Yo Ma, Stuart Duncan, Edgar Meyer and Chris Thile. The Goat Rodeo Sessions is done with such skillful ease, it is far from a “goat rodeo”--according to UrbanDictionary.com, the term essentially means a clusterfuck with multifarious inputs that seems to make for a hopeless outcome. The album might seem bluegrass-y to classical fans and classical to bluegrass junkies, but is worth all four stars I gave it. To read the full CW review, go here.
