One of the most talked-about local films from 2011 was this little known project called Must Come Down. --- Artist Kenny Riches took on the role of director in this film about finding where you fit in life, seen through the eyes of two people currently experiencing their respective quarter-life crises who inevitably start to help each other move on in odd and sometimes ridiculous ways.
Here’s how I know Dan Wells accomplished something terrific
with Partials: Instead of feeling
like I was pushing through the hundredth post-apocalyptic thriller in the last
six months, I couldn’t put the damned thing down. There’s certainly a whiff of familiarity to the basic premise: Some 50 years in the future, most of humanity has been wiped out by a
virus, believed to have been released by the genetically engineered
soldiers—called Partials—who had rebelled against their human creators.
One of the difficulties when grilling whole chickens is that certain parts (like the wings) tend to burn before the others are fully cooked. This recipe, which calls for butterflying the chicken first, solves that problem.

Little, Brown and Company announced in a press release today that it will be publishing J.K. Rowling's first novel for adults. No information was released about the publication date, title or genre, though it was reported in 2007 that Rowling was working on a crime novel.
