So many bands, so little time. A varied lineup of music, from folk-inspired groups to indie rock and roots reggae, will be coming through the valley this week, and here's a little, curated taste of the action.---

Most people don’t have the time (and if they do have the time, probably don’t have the funds) to make it to a live show almost every night of the week. So how to decide which one of these not-to-be missed bands that you’ll actually have to miss and which one(s) you'll die to see?  Well, we’re trying to make that a little easier by putting together a playlist of some of the best music coming to town, so you can make a side-by-side comparison.

Can’t choose between Typhoon and Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros Friday night? Yes, it’s a hard choice, but it has to be made. Listen to this week’s playlist once, twice or three times and you’ll be sure to find yourself head bobbing a little bit more to one song than another.

If you’re on the other end of the spectrum and haven’t heard of any of the bands coming through town, take a listen. Something in this list will tickle your fancy.

This playlist starts out with the mellow strings and melodies of Megafaun and works its way into the punchier, janglier sounds of Edwarde Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros. The playlist was crafted to give your oh-so-delicate ear a soothing serenade from Sharon Van Etten before building up to the gritty Southern sounds of Lucero and Little Feat, then ends with a reggae track to get you into pregame mode. Open your ears and your calendar for a week of great music.
