Special Move to Amend Training Saturday

The national leader of the Move to Amend campaign that seeks to repeal the corrupting influences of the Citizen United court decision that decided corporations are people and politicians can be bought and sold with impunity will be doing training in Salt Lake City Saturday before helping with a final signature gathering push.---
David Cobb, a former Green Party presidential candidate will be in Salt Lake City to help lead a skills workshop with local Move to Amend leader Ashley Sanders. The duo will be helping the group in their final push for signatures to get citywide ballot that would call for an amendment to the United States Constitution to reverse a recent Supreme Court decision.
That decision on the Citizens United case has given rise to new Super PACs or political action committees that take unlimited corporate donations while allowing more secrecy about who is behind them and less transparency in the electoral process.
If corporations aren’t your friends and you don’t think free speech can be bought, then check out this great training event hosted by Peaceful Uprising and Move to Amend.
Check it out, Saturday, March 31, with training sessions from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Peaceful Uprising warehouse 1361 S. Main. At 4 p.m. you can join Move to Amend as they canvass for remaining signatures needed to get the issue on the Salt Lake City ballot to call an end to corporate personhood and to clarify that money does not equal free speech.
