Dear GYA, This is kind of embarrassing but I'm totally broke. It's weird, because I always figured that being unemployed, spending thousands of dollars on fertility drugs and having 14 kids made perfect financial sense. I don't know, any ideas?- Octo-mom---
Octo-mom, just do what you do best and keep pumping out kids. Eventually, you're bound to get a reality show. In the meantime, here are some things going down today that are pretty cheap:
Have you wanted a painting that had a sharktopus in it? Well, now's your chance to make that dream a reality. Blonde Grizzly will be hosting the works of local pop-artist Kat Martin. Martin takes old '70s-style landscape works and retrofits the paintings with zombies, superheroes and mutants -- a must-have for any living room.
At 7 p.m., Provo-based synth-rockers Imagine Dragons will be playing tonight at In The Venue/Club Sound. The band will be showcasing some new tunes from Continued Silence, their first major label release on Interscope Records. Tickets are going for $15.
The works of beloved Utah artist J.T. Harwood will be on display at the Springville Museum of Art. The showcase focuses on the work of Harwood's later years between 1927-1940, some of which have never been seen publicly.
Other worthwhile events happening today:
- Geeks Who Drink pub trivia at Maggie McGee's tonight at 8 p.m.
- Local rapper Dumb Luck will be hosting a CD Release party tonight at Urban Lounge, beginning at 9 p.m.
- Karaoke That Doesn't Suck at The Woodshed, beginning at 9 p.m.
