May Madness: The Sweet 16 of Music

Many of the bands/solo singers lean towards the sticky pop side of things -- some cover Bieber and Taylor Swift in a sickly, lo-fi way. But -- and not because I’m locally biased -- there are three locals (as far as I can tell) who are vying for a win, and they shine by comparison. Stadium of Fire is part of America’s Freedom Fest in Provo.
The TopBlip.com (read more about the local website here) contest began May 14, and each March Madness-like round moves forward every three days. The Sweet 16 ends May 23, and the overall winner is announced May 29. Two bands/singers square off and best their opponent by garnering more votes on the website, in addition to Facebook likes and Tweets. So, do that. Check out the bracket here.
