This tip is so cutting-edge, the band doesn’t even have music recorded yet.---

Yup, unlike many of the bands that I’ve highlighted thus far for this emerging bands series (L'anarchiste, Folk Hogan, Lady Murasaki, The Awful Truth, New.Body.Electric, with more to come), Color Animal is really, really new. But the project is actually comprised of many of the local music scene’s stalwarts.

Andrew Shaw’s (The Platte) dreams of rocking out again have come true, with the help of Nick Neihart (guitar), Tyler Ford (drums) and Felicia Baca (bass, backup vocals). Color Animal played their first gig May 8, and all accounts were that it was a grand ol’ time.

The four-piece is specializing in garage rock that is simple and accessible, yet at times aggressive. The band plans to record an album over the summer once a few more songs are hashed out. So, be on the lookout.
