It had seemed uncertain if the Hidden Hollow Concert Series would continue this summer after KRCL Radio (90.9 FM) decided to temporarily cease sponsorship, but it now has been confirmed that it will go on for another season.---

In an e-mail to City Weekly, KRCL Community Outreach & Grants Chair Alana Burman wrote:

“KRCL has decided to put the Hidden Hollow Concert Series on hold for the time being. This year's series was tentative because of construction near the venue and we needed to plan our summer schedule. The station has sincerely enjoyed partnering with Utah Open Lands and local musicians over the last two years, and we look forward to holding events in the Hidden Hollow Nature Area again in the future.

In earlier correspondence with Burman, it seemed as though the series itself might also be put on hold for the year. But Utah Open Lands deputy director Catherin Cargill says the series will, in fact, go on. It will be called “Utah Open Lands Conservation in Concert at Hidden Hollow.” Cargill confirmed that “KRCL won't be participating this year (hopefully, next).”

The series will be held from 7 p.m. to dark July 13, August 3, August 17 and August 24, at 1228 E. Wilmington Ave. (approx. 2190 South). The event is free and open to the public. This year there will only be one band per evening, and that lineup is still under construction, although Cargill sent a list of eight local potentials, and it looks promising. So, here’s to hoping for another great series of music at the lovely Hidden Hollow.
