Dear GYA, Has the whole world gone crazy? Am I the only one around here who gives a shit about the rules? If you step over the line, then you mark it zero. Sure, it's bowling, but we're talking about a league game, man. It determines who goes into the next round robin. Am I wrong? --- I swear, if Smokey pulls this crap again, he's gonna enter a world of pain. Anything else to do tonight? - Walter Sobchak
Walter, you can't pull out your gun every time you get upset; it's just a game, man. Here are a few things to do tonight besides bowling:
Check out the musical Crazy for You at Hale Center Theatre in Orem. Set to the tunes of George and Ira Gershwin, this tale of big-city boy meets small-town girl won the 1992 Tony Award for Best Musical and the New York Times called it "rightously entertaining." Evening shows are at 7:30 p.m., matinees are at 3 p.m. Tickets range from $16 - $20.
Head to In The Venue/Club Sound to see the alternative rock band Motion City Soundtrack. Often described as emo-punk, theirs is a poppy take on punk and rock. The Henry Clay People are also on the bill. Tickets are $22 and the doors open at 7:30 p.m.
The good folks over at the Tracy Aviary are offering a special summer deal for all you fans of the avian persuasion. Every Monday, patrons can enjoy the economical price of $5 admission after 5 p.m. This is a great place to take your kids because it's educational stuff ridiculously masked as fun.
Other worthwhile events happening today:
- Michael Whiting's exhibit 8-Bit Art will be presented at the BYU Museum of Art all day today.
- Every Monday at noon, check out the free Lunch Box Concert Series at the Gallivan Center.
- Fiddler on the Roof will be at the Terrace Plaza Playhouse, beginning at 7:30 p.m.
