The Park City Chamber is currently offering a deal where, if you book a participating hotel for three nights, (many with very good rates) show up to check-in with a copy of a document you printed out when booking, they'll hand you a pre-loaded $50 American Express card. That extra $50 works all the better when you go out to top restaurants that are already offering deals. Check out the Park City Restaurant Association Web site for information on the various specials, or simply pick up a copy of the local Park Record newspaper when you get up there and look for coupons, 2-for-1 nights, etc.
The three-day requirement on the hotel offer means the upcoming Labor Day Weekend is a great time for a getaway. In Park City, it's been celebrated as "Miner's Day" for 114 straight years and includes a full day of activities, including the "Running of the Balls." You "adopt" a ball for $5 and an avalanche of them are released at the top of Main Street. The first ones down and into a chute at the bottom win prizes.
