This Friday, Nov. 2, Deer Valley's Montage Resort will host a wine social featuring the wines of Tim Mondavi's Continuum Estate. Tim's son Carlo (the one with male-model looks) will be in attendance --- to discuss Continuum wines with attendees.
This will be a small, intimate reception, with a selection of appetizers by Montage Chef de Cuisine David Mullen to pair with Continuum 2009. Included on the tentative appetizer menu are roasted beets with burnt rosemary panna cotta; short-rib steamed buns with housemade pickle; and salsify and miso soup with mandarin gelee and crisp prosciutto.
Continuum is a very focused, Bordeaux-style blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Merlot -- a fabulous wine that I've written about before. Click here to read more about Continuum.
In addition to tastes of Continuum 2009, Gruet Brut NV will also be poured as the starter wine.
The Mondavi/Montage wine social runs from 4 to 7 p.m. at Montage's Apex restaurant and costs $45 per person (21 and older only, obviously).
For reservations, contact Apex General Manager Brian Reeder at 435-604-1396.
