Dear GYA, So, I heard North Korean historians have finally confirmed the existence of unicorns. Man, this is a bummer. It's not that I don't want the "so called" mythical creatures to exist, it's just that it sorta sucks to find out unicorns are extinct and I'll never be able to taste a unicorn burger. Well, since I'll never eat a magic sandwich, anything else to do today? - Mark Chuckington, Draper---

Mark, Have you ever had narwhal? It's the next best thing. Anyway, here are a few options for your day:

Westminster College and Tower Theatre are showing a free screening of Todd Haynes' film Poison. Considered an early foray into the "New Queer" Cinema movement, Poison is a controversial commentary on the complexities of human sexuality. The show starts at 7 p.m.

At Off Broadway Theatre, check out the musical comedy Off-White Christmas. The show spoofs the Bing Crosby/Danny Kaye musical White Christmas, as the main characters dress as women to get out of some sticky predicaments and also sing and tap dance their way to fame and fortune. There may even be a Christmas miracle or two. The show starts at 7:30 p.m.

Pioneer Theatre Company's presentation of A Christmas Carol: The Musical will be going on tonight. Originally produced at Madison Square Garden in New York City, this singing-and-dancing musical version of Dickens’ Christmas classic provides a wonderfully fresh look at the story of Ebenezer Scrooge and the ghostly visits he receives one Christmas Eve. The show starts at 7:30 p.m.

A few other worthwhile events happening tonight:

- The Gallivan Center Ice Rink is up and running. Skating starts at noon.

- Tonight is Pub Quiz Night at The Republican. The quizzin' starts at 9:30 p.m.

- Rachael Carver's visual art exhibit Life, In An Eggshell will be on display at Alchemy Coffee all day today.
