Dear GYA, Have you seen that crazy video where an eagle almost flies off with a baby?! It's a sober reminder, folks. You know, I've been saying for years that this was bound to happen. Parents, you need to talk to your kids about the dangers of eagles, and I think we as a nation should  entertain the idea that eagles should be banned for good. All right, anything happening today that's safe from eagle attacks? Bob Grundle, Magna---

Bob, This is why I refuse to have kids in the first place. Until this eagle problem is solved, I don't feel right bringing a child into this cold, cold world. Here are some eagle-free activities for today:

Zest Kitchen & Bar will be hosting the Joshua Payne Orchestra CD Release Party tonight.  The experimental jazz group recently debuted their newest album, For Ra Ra Ra. Check out City Weekly Music Editor Austen Diamond's Liner Notes write-up with the group right here. The show starts at 8.

Wiseguys Trolley Square will be throwing an End of World Comedy Show.  Join comedians Spencer King, Guy Seidel, Steve Soelberg, and Andy Gold for one final night of huge laughs as they talk about why they are glad this whole thing is over with. The show starts at 7:30.

In Kearns, the U.S. Short Track Championships are going down at the Utah Olympic Oval. U.S. Short Track speedskaters will go head-to-head in various distances, vying for a position on the podium and all while wearing spandex. The race starts at 10 a.m.

A few more options for today:

- A.M. Bump will be at Gracie's tonight at 9.

- The a cappella group Voce Male will be at Abravanel Hall, starting at 7 p.m.

- Lumpy's Downtown will host Geeks Who Drink pub trivia, beginning at 8 p.m.
