Dear GYA, Did you hear that we're getting Google Fiber down here in Provo?! That's fudgin' right beaches! Finally, Google Fiber--it's like, like the fastest internet in existence. Oh man, anything happening today once I'm finished downloading every single porno in existence? Elder Jefferfeilds, Provo---
Elder, you're right. I believe the history books will someday read, "And on that day, God blessed the Mormons will infinite bandwidth and zero load time for HD spank flicks." Here's what's up for today...once that gets old:
The CWMA's Hip-Hop Showcase will be going down at 5 Monkeys tonight. This is your chance to see some great local music and vote for who should be named band/rapper of the year. Performances by Burnell Washburn, Emerson Kennedy, Dope Thought, Concise Kilgore and DJ Finale Grande. The show starts at 9 p.m. There's a $5 cover.
Indie-alternative band The Epilogues will be Metro Bar tonight. DJ/DC will be opening things up. The show starts at 9 p.m. Free with Facebook RSVP.
Ska-punk legends Voodoo Glow Skulls will be on stage at Bar Deluxe. Left Alone, Elephant Riders, Riva Rebels are also on the bill. The show starts at 9 p.m. Tickets are $10.
