Glad You Asked: Filligar, John Prine and Big Band

Dear GYA, There's been a lot of discussion on whether or not we should continue to have horse-drawn carriages in downtown Salt Lake City, and I want you to know that all of us on the City Council are concerned with finding a fair solution. In fact, I had an idea  that might just solve this dilemma: We'll glue a bunch of stray cats together to look like a horse--- and we'll have them pull our carriages around! Boom, that's called problem solving. Anything happening today where I could take a leisurely cat carriage?- Jay Moreletti, Salt Lake City Council member

Jay, That's a perfect idea. You should also consider building some green bikes that look like horses, or just employing some local furries to pull our carriages. Either way, I don't want to step on your toes. Here's what's up for today:

Chicago-based indie-folk-rock band Filligar will be onstage at Kilby Court this evening. Torches and the 2:13's will warm things up. The show starts at 8. Tickets are $8.

Country-folk singer John Prine will be at Red Butte this evening. Johnnyswim is also on the bill. The show starts at 7:30. Tickets start at $35.  

The Gallivan Center will be hosting 19-piece big band the Wasatch Jazz Project tonight at 7:30. Admission is free for this all-ages show!
