If you've ever attended a wine dinner with the affable Deanna Eames, who represents Oregon's Willamette Valley Vineyards, you know that these events are as fun as they are informative. ---
On Tuesday, Oct. 8, Deanna will be back in town to co-host a Willamette Valley Vineyards wine dinner with Meditrina Small Plates & Wine Bar. This is a diversion from Meditrina's monthly wine "socials" -- a full, four-course dinner featuring four special-order wines and limited to 30 guests.
The tentative menu and pairings are as follows:
Pan-seared scallop with cauliflower puree, roasted red pepper coulis & brown butter + WVV Chardonnay
Sweet-potato soup with charred marshmallows and toasted hazelnuts + WVV "Estate" Pinot Noir
Duck confit and pumpkin polenta with roasted root vegetables & red wine reduction + WVV "Tualatin" Pinot Noir
White-wine-poached pear and pineapple sabayon with almond praline + WVV Riesling
Also, Jen at Meditrina says that she's happy to offer a vegetarian option for this menu providing that they are alerted upon reservation.
The Willamette Valley Vineyards wine dinner at Meditrina will run from 7 to 9 p.m.. The cost per person is $40 for the four-course dinner and $40 for the wine pairings.
Be sure to call ahead for reservations at 801-485-2055.
