What happens when Liam Neeson takes to the skies for an action-thriller? The critics' airborne puns exceed FAA regulations. ---

Movies based around transportation are perhaps only slightly less likely than movies based around sports to inspire Hack Stamp-y references, and Non-Stop is no exception, as the plane-oriented "jokes" range from the painfully predictable to the thoroughly baffling.

Non-Stop hits turbulence early on and never truly levels out, making for one bumpy ride.” – Travis Hopson, Examiner.com

“Fasten your seat belts before takeoff, because Non-Stop is a bumpy ride.” – Marjorie Baumgarten, Austin Chronicle

“A nifty lift-off and a tense first hour lead us, disappointingly, to a very bumpy landing.” – James Mottram, Total Film

“Neeson’s growly presence makes a bumpy ride enjoyable.” – Joe Neumaier, New York Daily News

“Sit back and enjoy the flight, Captain Neeson has everything fully in control.” – Jeffrey K. Lyles, Lyles’ Movie Files

“A committed cast and crew do their best to keep this airplane thriller aloft, but ultimately a ludicrous premise and multiple plot inanities lead to a crash-landing, literally and figuratively.” – Frank Swietek, One Guy’s Opinion

“… an efficiently made exercise in airplane claustrophobia that takes off well enough but then crash-lands in the third act …” Cary Darling, Fort Worth Star-Telegram

“… the film soars through a plot that grows to preposterous heights. … All of these mid-air maladies come together to make Non-Stop live up to its name in an unfortunate way — the mistakes are non-stop.” – Rick Bentley, Fresno Bee

“…That may have been the only way to salvage a movie that otherwise never gets off the ground.” – Marc Mohan, The Oregonian

“… in terms of making us care about who's the culprit secret, the pic quickly loses altitude.” – Jim Judy, Screen It!

“…in the pantheon of Liam Neeson action movies, its tray table is up and it sits in a standard, upright position.” – Anders Wright, San Diego Union-Tribune

“It’s a sturdy vehicle, but if you’re looking to book a ticket to uncharted territory, Non-Stop is a non-starter.” – Joe Williams, St. Louis Post-Dispatch

“I had no problem stowing my disbelief in the compartment overhead.” – Chris Hewitt, St. Paul Pioneer Press

“When all its engines are firing, however, it's a heck of a ride.” – Rafer Guzman, Newsday

“It collects plenty of air miles for enjoyability” – Peter Bradshaw, The Guardian
